Inquiry into the Operation of the NPPF

A Parliamentary Select Committee Inquiry into the Operation of the NPPF  has now completed its work and published its report on 16th December 2014.   This review of the NPPF was performed following research findings published in the Cambridge Report.

PCCS made three separate statements to the Committee and Jenny was our representative at the Forum in Westminster. The submissions can be seen via links in ‘History’ below and  for Jenny’s  report on the Forum – see link top right.

“The Government’s flagship planning policy, the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), needs to do more to protect against unsustainable development in England and ensure communities aren’t subject to unwanted housing development, says the Communities and Local Government (CLG) Committee in a report published today. The CLG Committee found that developers are taking advantages of loopholes in the framework to launch ‘speculative’ planning applications leading to unwanted developments contrary to the wishes of local communities.”
